The communion is the celebration of the death and the resurrection of Jesus Christ. During the Lord's supper, Jesus took bread, gave thanks, broke it and gave it to His disciples saying, "this is My body given up for you, do this in remembrance of Me." Likewise He took the cup saying, "this cup is the new covenant in my blood" Luke 22:19-20.
